GST Registration Noida

If you run a business in Noida and your buyers are asking for a GST invoice, you already know why you are here. GST registration in Noida is done fully online, and once it is approved you get your Noida GST number - a 15-digit GSTIN. Since Noida is in Uttar Pradesh, in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district, that number always starts with 09, which is the UP state code, the Noida GST code under GST. So GST registration Noida always means a GSTIN beginning with 09.

This page is only about Noida, and it also covers Greater Noida. Who has to register here, which documents actually work for a Noida address, the full process, what it costs, the GST wards and zones, and how long it really takes. If you want the general basics of what GST registration is, that is on our GST registration page. Here we stay on Noida.

A wrong document or a mismatched address is the most common reason Noida applications get a REG-03 query. Better to get it right the first time.

GST Registration Limit in Noida

Uttar Pradesh is a normal category state. It is not a special category state. So the normal limits apply in Noida and there is no separate Noida or UP limit. Some websites quote wrong figures here, mixing this up with the North Eastern states, so let us keep it clear and correct.

Your business Limit in Noida Point to note
Only goods INR 40 lakh Only if you deal purely in goods, nothing else
Only services INR 20 lakh Most Noida IT firms, consultants and freelancers are here
Goods and services both INR 20 lakh This is where people go wrong - read the note below
The mistake we see most often. Say you sell hardware in Noida and you also charge for installation. You think the INR 40 lakh limit protects you. It does not. The moment you supply services along with goods, the INR 20 lakh limit applies on your whole turnover, not just the service part. We see Noida business owners find this out only after they have already crossed it.

One more thing. Turnover is counted PAN-wise across all of India, not just your Noida business. If you run a consultancy in Noida and also get rent from a property somewhere else on the same PAN, both add up in the same limit.

When You Must Register Even Below the Limit

Section 24 of the CGST Act ignores the limit completely for some cases. If you fall in any of these, register from day one:

  • You supply goods from Noida to buyers in other states - and remember, Delhi is another state, right across the border
  • You are a casual taxable person - for example, a stall at an exhibition or trade fair
  • You are a non-resident taxable person supplying into Noida
  • You have to deduct TDS or collect TCS under GST
  • You are an Input Service Distributor
  • You pay tax under reverse charge
The Noida-Delhi point most people miss. Noida sits right on the Delhi border, and a lot of Noida businesses supply into Delhi every day. The moment you send goods across that border into Delhi, or any other state, you need registration from the first sale - the turnover limit no longer protects you. This catches new Noida traders all the time, because the client feels local but is legally in another state.
About online sellers - most Noida pages get this wrong. Almost every site still says that every online seller must register from the first rupee. That is not fully true since 1 October 2023. A small seller of goods can stay unregistered if he sells only inside UP, stays under the limit, sells through e-commerce operators in one state only, and declares his PAN and place of business on the GST portal. But the moment you ship outside UP, registration becomes must. In real life almost every Noida seller on Amazon or Flipkart ships all over India, so most of them do need it. Still, you should know which side you are on.

Is There a Last Date for GST Registration in Noida?

People search for this often, so let us clear it up. There is no yearly last date or deadline for GST registration in Noida. It is not like an ITR due date. The rule is different - you must apply within 30 days from the date you become liable to register. For a casual taxable person, it is at least 5 days before you start business. So your last date is personal to your business, not a common date on the calendar.

Rule 14A simplified GST registration granting GST number in three working days

The 3-Day Route: Rule 14A for Noida Businesses

This is the biggest change in GST registration in years, and almost no Noida page mentions it.

Rule 14A came in through Notification No. 18/2025 - Central Tax dated 31 October 2025, and is effective from 1 November 2025. It is an optional fast route. If you qualify, registration is granted electronically within three working days from the date your ARN is generated, provided Aadhaar authentication is done.

Who Can Take This Route

1 Your own estimate of monthly output tax on supplies to registered buyers should not cross INR 2.5 lakh per month, counting CGST, SGST, IGST and cess together
2 You do not already have another Rule 14A registration in UP on the same PAN
3 Aadhaar authentication is done for the Primary Authorised Signatory and at least one Promoter or Partner
Read this carefully - two things everyone misunderstands.

One. The INR 2.5 lakh is tax amount, not turnover. This is not a 2.5 lakh sales limit. If your goods or services are at 18 percent GST, then INR 2.5 lakh of tax works out to roughly INR 13.88 lakh of B2B supply per month. So the scheme covers many more Noida businesses than people assume.

Two. Only supplies to registered buyers are counted. Your B2C sales to normal customers are not counted at all. So a Noida shop with heavy counter sales but small B2B billing can still qualify comfortably.

To take this route, you select "Yes" against the Rule 14A option in Part B of Form GST REG-01 and give the declaration. If you do not select it, your application goes through the normal route.

Noida GST ward map showing which sectors fall under each GST ward

The Part Nobody Warns You About

Rule 14A is genuinely faster. But coming out of it is a process, not a switch. If your B2B tax crosses INR 2.5 lakh a month, you cannot simply report the higher amount - the portal will not let you. You have to formally withdraw first, using Form GST REG-32. The officer then passes an order in Form GST REG-33.

GSTN opened the online withdrawal facility on 21 February 2026. On the portal it sits under Services, then Registration, then Application for Withdrawal from Rule 14A. Before you can file it:

  • All returns from your registration date till the withdrawal date must be filed
  • At least one tax period's return must be filed (this is the rule now; before 1 April 2026 it was three months)
  • No amendment or cancellation application should be pending
  • No Section 29 cancellation proceedings should be running
Our honest advice. The withdrawal order works from the first day of the month after the order is passed. It does not apply backwards. So if you cross the limit before the order is in your hand, you are stuck for that period. If you are a small Noida B2B supplier who will stay under the limit, take Rule 14A. If your B2B billing is growing fast, either plan the withdrawal early or take the normal route. This is a five minute discussion, and it is worth having before you tick that box.
Two things you may read elsewhere that are wrong. First, some sites say Rule 14A gives registration "within one hour". There is no such timeline anywhere in the notification. The legal position is three working days. Second, Rule 14A is not the same as Rule 9A. The same notification also brought in Rule 9A, where the system itself may grant registration in three days based on risk and data analysis. Rule 9A is decided by the system. Rule 14A is chosen by you. They are different things.

Documents Required for GST Registration in Noida

The list changes with your business type. Here is what is actually needed for each.

Proprietorship / Individual
  • PAN of proprietor
  • Aadhaar of proprietor
  • Passport size photograph
  • Bank details - cancelled cheque or statement
  • Noida address proof
  • Mobile number and email
Partnership / LLP
  • PAN of the firm or LLP
  • Partnership deed or LLP agreement
  • PAN and Aadhaar of all partners
  • Photographs of partners
  • Letter of authorisation
  • Bank details
  • Noida address proof
  • LLP incorporation certificate, if LLP
Private Limited / OPC
  • PAN of the company
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • MOA and AOA
  • PAN and Aadhaar of all directors
  • Photographs of directors
  • Board resolution for authorised signatory
  • Class 3 DSC of authorised signatory
  • Bank details
  • Noida address proof

Noida has a lot of IT companies and startups, so a good number of registrations here are private limited companies. If you are also setting up the company itself, get in touch and we will handle the company registration and GST together.

Noida Address Proof - Where Applications Actually Fail

This is the single biggest reason Noida applications get stuck, so it deserves its own section.

Your premises What you need
Owned Latest electricity bill, or property tax receipt, in the owner's name
Rented Registered rent agreement plus the landlord's latest electricity bill
Relative's place or consent property NOC from the owner, plus his electricity bill and ownership proof

Now the practical points, the ones that matter in Noida:

  • A commercial address is not compulsory. Home based businesses in the residential sectors of Noida can register on a residential address with proper proof. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise just to sell you an address.
  • Society flats and builder units need care. A lot of Noida is society flats and builder units. Make sure the electricity bill name matches your paperwork, and if you are a tenant, that the rent agreement is registered. A bill in the builder's or old owner's name is the classic Noida rejection.
  • Be careful with virtual offices and coworking desks. Noida has many coworking and virtual office providers, and these addresses are checked closely, with CBIC having tightened physical verification of premises through its April 2025 instructions. More on this in the next section.

Virtual Office and GST Registration in Noida

This deserves its own section because Noida runs on IT firms, startups and remote teams, and many of them do not have a full commercial office. So the virtual office question comes up here often.

Yes, you can take GST registration in Noida on a virtual office address. It is legal. But it carries real conditions, and getting them wrong is a common reason Noida registrations get rejected or cancelled later.

What a virtual office gives you What you must still have
A Noida business address to register on, without paying full office rent A proper rent or service agreement from the provider
A place to receive government post and notices NOC from the provider and their electricity bill
A registered address for invoices and clients Something real to show if a GST officer visits
Our honest take on virtual offices. A virtual office is fine if you genuinely operate from there or use it as your real business base with proper papers. It is a problem if you treat it as just a name on a document. When an officer does a physical check and finds no sign of your business, the application gets rejected, or the GSTIN gets cancelled months later. If you go this route, use a known provider, keep the agreement and NOC ready, and be prepared to show the officer that you actually work from there. If you are not sure, call us before you pay any provider.

Online GST Registration in Noida - Step by Step Process

The whole GST registration process in Noida is online at gst.gov.in. You do not have to visit any GST office in Noida, and you do not need to search for GST registration near me - it is all done from your desk. Only if biometric authentication gets triggered, you may have to go to a GST Suvidha Kendra. This is the complete process, start to finish.

1 Fill Part A. On gst.gov.in go to Services, then Registration, then New Registration. Put your PAN, mobile and email. Verify both OTPs. You get a Temporary Reference Number (TRN). Save it.
2 Log in with the TRN and fill Part B. This is the long part - business type, your principal place of business in Noida, nature of premises, HSN codes for goods or SAC codes for services, promoter and director details, authorised signatory, bank details.
3 Decide on Rule 14A. Select "Yes" if you qualify and want the 3-day route. Think before you click. See the section above.
4 Upload documents. Clear scans, correct file size. Blurry uploads bring queries.
5 Do the Aadhaar authentication. OTP based is faster. In some cases biometric authentication at a GST Suvidha Kendra is needed. If you skip Aadhaar completely, expect physical verification of your Noida premises and a much longer wait.
6 Submit with DSC or EVC. Companies and LLPs must use Class 3 DSC. Proprietors and individuals can use EVC.
7 Track your ARN. You get an Application Reference Number immediately. Track it on the portal.
8 Reply to REG-03 within 7 working days. If the officer wants clarification, you reply in Form GST REG-04. Missing this window is how applications die.
9 Get your GST number and download Form REG-06 - your registration certificate - from the portal.

After the GST Number Comes - the 30 Day Bank Rule

This catches new Noida registrants all the time. Under Rule 10A you have to give bank account details linked to your business PAN within 30 days of registration, or before filing your first GSTR-1 or IFF, whichever is earlier. Miss it and your registration can be suspended. Getting the GST number is not the finish line.

GST Registration Fees in Noida

Let us be straight, because there is a lot of noise on pricing in this line.

Cost head Amount Notes
Government fee for new GST registration in Noida INR 0 The GST portal charges nothing. Anyone quoting a government fee is misleading you.
Professional charges Depends on your structure A proprietorship is simpler than a Pvt Ltd with several directors and DSC work. Ask for it in writing.
Class 3 DSC, if needed Extra, if you do not have one Needed for companies and LLPs. Proprietors using EVC do not need it.
Rent agreement, NOC or virtual office Extra, if applicable Depends on your premises situation

We have not printed one headline price here, and that is a choice. Your actual GST registration charges in Noida depend on your business type, whether you need a DSC, and whether your address papers are clean. Call us and you will get a real number for your case, not a low rate that changes later.

How Long Does GST Registration Take in Noida

Route Time
Rule 14A route, with Aadhaar authentication 3 working days from ARN
Normal route, Aadhaar done, papers clean Around 7 working days
Without Aadhaar authentication Much longer - physical verification is likely, can go up to 30 days
If a REG-03 query comes Add your reply time, plus the officer's review

GST Wards and Special Zones in Noida

Noida is planned in sectors, and for GST your ward is decided by where your business sits. This trips up a lot of people, so here is a simple guide. Your exact ward is confirmed from your address and PIN code on the GST portal, but this gives you the general layout.

GST Ward General area it covers
Ward 1 Sector 1 to 11 area, early industrial sectors
Ward 2 Sector 12 to 22, Atta Market, Film City side
Ward 3 Sector 23 to 37, mixed residential and commercial belt
Ward 4 Sector 38 to 49, GIP Mall and Botanical Garden area
Ward 5 Sector 50 to 62, family residential and office sectors
Ward 6 Sector 63 to 71, IT, electronics and corporate offices
Ward 7 Sector 72 to 79, high-rise apartments area
Ward 8 Sector 80 to 93B, including NSEZ and Industrial Phase 2. This is GST ward number 8.

Noida also has some special zones that matter for GST and for the kind of business you can run there:

Zone What it is
NSEZ, near Sector 81 Noida Special Economic Zone - a special duty area, mainly for export units. See the SEZ note below.
Sector 62 and 63 IT Zone The IT, software and startup belt of Noida
Sector 135 and 136 SEZ and IT/ITES companies on the expressway side
Film City, Sector 16A Media, news and entertainment companies
Ecotech, Greater Noida Industrial zones and heavy units in Greater Noida
YEIDA, Yamuna Expressway Warehouses, logistics and industries near Jewar Airport

Noida GST Jurisdiction and Office

Noida comes under a dual control system, like the rest of the country - part central, part state. On the central side, Noida falls under the CGST Commissionerate Noida, which is in the Meerut Zone, and is split into Divisions - Noida I to Noida VI - each with its own Ranges. The office of the Principal Commissioner of CGST Noida is at Plot C-232A/2 to 232A/3, Sector-48, Noida. On the state side, the Uttar Pradesh GST department handles Noida through its ward and sector offices.

Which office handles you depends on your exact address and PIN code in Noida. This is the office that will deal with your audits, notices and refunds, so it is worth knowing. You can check your own jurisdiction on the GST portal by your PIN code. If you searched for the Noida GST office, or the GST office for a particular sector like Sector 62 or Sector 148, that is what these terms mean - your ward and Division are decided from your principal place of business.

Remember, though, that you almost never need to visit the office in person for a normal registration. The whole thing is online, and we handle it from our end. The office matters mainly for your jurisdiction records, notices and any later assessment.

Is Noida Tax Free? Understanding the Noida SEZ

This is a common question, so let us clear it up honestly. Noida is not a tax free city. Normal businesses in Noida pay GST and other taxes like anywhere else in India.

The confusion comes from the NSEZ, the Noida Special Economic Zone near Sector 81. An SEZ has some special customs and tax treatment, but that applies only to units set up inside the SEZ, mostly for export, and only under specific conditions. It does not make Noida tax free for a normal shop, office or service business outside the zone.

So if you run a regular business anywhere in Noida or Greater Noida, you need GST registration on the normal rules explained on this page. If you are specifically setting up an export unit inside the NSEZ, the treatment is different and it is worth a proper discussion - call us and we will explain what applies to your case.

GST Registration in Greater Noida

Greater Noida is a bit different from Noida city, but for GST the basics are the same. It is still in Uttar Pradesh, in Gautam Buddh Nagar, so your GST number still starts with 09. The same turnover limits, the same documents and the same process apply.

What is different is the local setup. Greater Noida is developed by GNIDA, and the Yamuna Expressway side comes under YEIDA. It has big industrial and warehousing zones, Knowledge Park, and a growing number of companies near the upcoming Jewar Airport. If your business is in Greater Noida, we handle your GST registration exactly the same way, fully online. Your ward and Division are decided from your Greater Noida address and PIN code.

Why Noida GST Applications Get Rejected

We handle these queries regularly. Almost every rejection or REG-03 notice in Noida comes from this short list:

Electricity bill name does not match - the bill is in the builder's, old owner's or previous tenant's name
Rent agreement is not registered, or the period has expired
Virtual office or coworking address with nothing real to show if an officer visits
NOC missing where the premises belong to a relative or a provider
Blurry or cropped uploads - the officer simply cannot read the document
Wrong HSN or SAC code for the business you have declared
No reply to REG-03 within 7 working days - the application simply dies

Benefits of GST Registration for a Noida Business

Input Tax Credit. You set off the GST you paid on purchases - office rent, supplies, software, equipment - against the GST you collect. For most Noida businesses this is the real money argument.
Working with the big companies. Noida is full of IT firms, MNCs and large corporates. They need a valid GSTIN on your invoice to take their own ITC. Without it, most of them will simply not onboard you as a vendor.
Supplying into Delhi and beyond. Noida sits on the Delhi border and most businesses here supply outward. A GST number removes that barrier.
E-commerce. Selling across India on Amazon, Flipkart or Meesho from a Noida base needs it.
Government tenders. A valid GSTIN is standard eligibility.
Current account and credit. Banks treat the GST certificate as proper business proof.

Penalty for Not Registering in Noida

Situation What it costs
Not registering when you were liable 10 percent of the tax due, minimum INR 10,000
Deliberate evasion Up to 100 percent of the tax due, under Section 122 of the CGST Act
Interest On the tax that should have been collected
Here is the part people miss. If you register late, your registration is effective from the date the officer grants it - not from the date you crossed the limit. The gap period still carries tax. And you cannot go back to customers you have already billed and ask them for that GST now. It comes out of your own pocket. Usually that is the expensive part, not the penalty.

We handle GST registration in Noida every week, and we offer full GST registration services in Noida, not just the filing. As your GST registration consultant in Noida, here is what that means for you in practice: we check your address papers before applying instead of after the notice comes, we tell you the correct Noida GST ward and jurisdiction for your sector, we tell you honestly whether a virtual office or Rule 14A suits your case, and if a REG-03 query does come, we know what the officer is actually asking for. We also handle your GST returns afterwards, so you are not left alone once the Noida GST number arrives.

General frequently asked questions

Apply online at gst.gov.in. Fill Part A with your PAN, mobile and email to get a TRN, then fill Part B with your Noida business details and documents, complete Aadhaar authentication, and submit with DSC or EVC. You get an ARN to track it. Once approved you get the 15-digit GSTIN starting with 09, which is the UP state code, and you download the certificate in Form REG-06.

The government fee is zero across Uttar Pradesh, including Noida. The GST portal does not charge anything for registration. You only pay professional charges, and those depend on your business type and whether you need a Class 3 DSC.

There is no fixed rate. The government fee itself is zero, so what you pay is only professional charges. These depend on your business type - a proprietorship costs less than a private limited company with several directors and DSC work. Be careful with very low advertised rates that quietly go up at the end. Ask for the full quote in writing before you start.

No. Noida is not tax free. Normal businesses in Noida pay GST like everywhere else in India. The confusion comes from the NSEZ, the Noida Special Economic Zone near Sector 81, which has special treatment - but only for units inside the SEZ, mostly for export, and under specific conditions. A regular Noida shop, office or service business is not tax free and needs normal GST registration.

Yes, you can. The GST portal is open to everyone and there is no legal need for a CA to file your registration. If your case is simple - a proprietorship, clean address papers - many people do it themselves. Where a professional helps is when your papers are not clean, you are a company or LLP with a DSC, you are unsure about your ward or Rule 14A, or a REG-03 query comes. Then a small fee saves you a rejected application and a lot of time.

09 is the Uttar Pradesh state code under GST, and Noida is in UP. It is the first two digits of every GSTIN registered in UP and it confirms your place of registration.

INR 40 lakh if you deal only in goods. INR 20 lakh if you are a service provider, and also INR 20 lakh if you supply goods and services both. UP is a normal category state, so the INR 10 lakh special category limit does not apply here. Ignore any site that says the limit is 20 lakh for goods or 50 lakh for special states - that is wrong.

It depends on your sector. As a rough guide, sectors 63 to 71 are the IT and corporate belt under Ward 6, sectors 50 to 62 come under Ward 5, and sectors 80 to 93B including the NSEZ come under Ward 8. Your exact ward is confirmed from your address and PIN code on the GST portal. Tell us your sector and we will confirm it for you.

The rules are the same. Greater Noida is still in UP and Gautam Buddh Nagar, so the GST number still starts with 09, and the limits, documents and process are identical. Only the local development authority is different - GNIDA and YEIDA instead of the Noida Authority. We handle Greater Noida registrations the same way, fully online.

Yes, it is allowed, but it carries conditions. You need a proper agreement, an NOC and the provider's electricity bill, and you must have something real to show if a GST officer visits. Virtual office and coworking addresses are checked closely in Noida, and CBIC tightened premises verification through its April 2025 instructions. If the officer finds no real business, the application can be rejected or cancelled later. Talk to us before you pay any provider.

It is an optional fast route effective from 1 November 2025, under Notification No. 18/2025 - Central Tax. If your monthly output tax on B2B supplies stays under INR 2.5 lakh, you get registration electronically in three working days, subject to Aadhaar authentication. Remember the INR 2.5 lakh is tax, not turnover - at 18 percent that is roughly INR 13.88 lakh of B2B supply a month. Coming out of the scheme later needs Form GST REG-32 and has return filing conditions.

You register where your place of business is, which is Noida, so your GSTIN starts with 09. Having Delhi clients does not change that. But note - if you send goods across the border into Delhi, that is an inter-state supply and you need registration from the first sale, whatever your turnover. If your office is actually in Delhi or Gurgaon and not Noida, see our Delhi or Gurgaon pages instead.

You have 7 working days to reply in Form GST REG-04 with whatever the officer has asked for. Most Noida queries are about address proof mismatches or virtual office verification. Send us the notice and we will tell you what he is actually asking for.
